Hello everyone,

Lots of names and faces that I recognise. Thanks for the link to the board.
Have missed you all, have had a LOT happen in the last 12 months so
hold tight and I'll give you a potted history and a brief background for those who haven't met me yet.....

I have been with husband and best friend for 20 years now, although we have only just celebrated our 11th Wedding Aniversary.
We have Darling Daughter Alexandria now just over 2.5 after 11 years of infertility.
She is full on, in your face, vocab of over 200 words, very very determined, she has limitations in her size. Extremly petite which means she has too think through things sometimes to reach stuff she will have to move several items to be able to climb up to reach.
We were blessed with our  Daughter Sydney at christmas last year, the natural miracle we were told we could never have... she is now ten months old and walking  eek2 She is much calmer than DD1 ( for now!), loves to people watch, but still knows what she wants too! She will happily dive into Alexandria's games with her older cousin, or pull her ponytail if she can reach!
We got flood out of our home 2 weeks before Sydney was due to join us, and I spent all of my maternity leave trying to put the house back together, things have stopped at the momment as my mother had to go into hospital for major surgery (cancer - pancreas) she is due out by this weekend all being well, and she can then start the road to recovery.
Hubby has had to work away from home during the week to get work, which has lead to weekends being manic to attempt to get lots of stuff done, as well as him spending time with the girls, He now finally has a job which is london based so he can stay at home and I am at my mothers!
Oh and then we have Alexandria is due to have surgery in about two weeks as her tonsils and adenoids are too big and the doctors have said she is "failing to thrive"
she has gained about 1-2lb in six months, you can hear her holding her breath to swallow food, and she has some sleep apnea too, so although I am dreading her having the surgery I know it will be the best thing ( i had it done for the same reasons but I was 4!) She is very young to have it, but they say she can't wait, but it will need an overnight stay rather than day surgery.
Assuming we manage to sort everything else, we are trying to book to go to disneyland paris, but it works out at the end of two weeks post-op so we have no idea if she will be up to it.

Ok thats me done, if you have stuck through to the end, you've done well you will be pleased to know I don't normally write posts this long!!!

Hello,
I am new here, but i wanted to respond to you... sending you alot of strength as you have alot to deal with smile
My now 4 year old had her tonsils and adnoids out, tubes in ears right before she was 2.. we were supposed to go home but stayed overnight b/c she refused to drink or eat at all :-(  but she made it fine, it took her 2-3 weeks to fully recover.... she almost got dehydrated, we had to go back to :make: her drink and eat....
My now 3 year old son had his adnoids out and buttons in his ears at 10 months, his recovery was very fast... a few days, w/o having tonsils out it was a breeze. The tonsils part is the misery, hard part... we have to get his tonsils out soon, but atleast i know what to expect:-)
She will be fine, just will need alot of rest and love

just an update on my first post.

mum has recovered from surgery and is generally doing ok, finding a balance on the preventative chemo at the mo, its making her feel very ill. but changing one sickness tablet has already made a huge difference.

Alexandria breezed through the surgery - she was eating sausage and chips two hours post op!!!
she was a little bit more tired for a few days after, unfortunatly she ended up back in hospital after having two post-op bleeds. so she was in for a day an a half for procedure, and two and a half days the following week.

We did make it too Disneyland Paris, although it was very wet, it was a good trip with lots of great memories made and some really special times.

Dh is working away from home again, the london job just didn't give him eneough hours to cover childcare so he had to look for a different contract.
