So Christian is going in for his 4 year wcv, and I have been debating breaking up the injections.  He is supposed to get 4.  His pedi said we could but I'm wondering at his age, would it be worse to go back twice or should we just get it over with?  He's never had any negative reactions to his immunizations before, I've just always been bothered by the amount given at once.  I just now asked his pedi about a modified schedule and they do have one. TIA

Jess, I'm not sure, I just know it's 4. I'm leaning toward just doing it so I don't have to drag him back. I have until 1:00 to decide.

Yeah, I felt like since he'd had them successfully before it was all good... plus he's bigger and better able to process stuff... right or wrong, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.   lmao

Good luck! At 4 I would just get it over and done with...I can totally picture Eli freaking if I took him back 2 weeks later.

Good point about the freaking out ... I bet that entered my thought process at the time too... at 4 they can dread the shots and who wants to drag a 4 year old kicking and screaming back when the memory is fresh from a few weeks prior.

I delayed Patrick's 4yr vax to age 5. He was just 4 days shy of his 4th birthday and the Dr would NOT give them to him that day so I was supposed to make an appt to take him back but I never did...He got them all at his 5yr check-up when I had to have his vaccine records for kindergarten registration.

So now that I just had this appointment I can clearly answer you lol

Eli was due 4 as well. One was a mixed dose, one was tetanus and one was the chicken pox. I declined chicken pox and since the others weren't time sensitive other than they had to be done before school enrollment, I got him the tetanus one and left the mixed one til he was 5. I can't remember which one it was called now...Audrey had a whole list too. It was either MMR or Dtap? however you spell that one.
So I only gave him one. I remember tetanus making my whole arm really sore when I got it at 15 and it appears to have made his sore too, I didn't want both his arms done and he was pretty upset so I don't know if we could have gotten the second one in without strapping the poor kid down.

I never did update... We did all 4 shots at once, he did well. They were all in his legs though, none in the arm. He cried during and had to tell everyone the doctor gave him "owies". But after you wouldn't have known he had any. He had no ill effects at all! He fell off the chart for weight (imagine that, my kid skinny?). Everything else is great!

Thanks ladies!!!
